Argonne Guest House: Chef John Jones
The Argonne Guest House Restaurant has recently hired Chef John Kevin Jones as the new Executive Chef, replacing Chef Chris Kaminski, who had served in the position for almost 17 years. Kaminski has moved on to pursue other opportunities.
Jones is from the South Side of Chicago. He is a graduate of the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago and the Culinary Institute of America and brings a wealth of culinary skill and mastery to Argonne. His main expertise resides in French Cuisine and Classical Cooking and he has earned the distinction of Master Saucier or sauce chef. Jones desires to bring remarkable cuisine, stellar service and a warm, inviting dining atmosphere to employees.
My number-one goal is consistency with each and every meal. I want restaurant guests to expect the same wow-factor on each and every visit. Executive Chef John Kevin Jones
Anxious to showcase his culinary talents, Jones is ready to make his mark and showcase his culinary palette. A key priority for Chef Jones is fresh ingredients. “Everything, down to the croutons in my Caesar Salad, is made fresh on site every day,” Jones says. “Local, fresh ingredients bring out the flavors and zest of a dish.”
Jones is also not one to hide in his kitchen. Employees should expect to see him out and about in the dining room speaking with patrons. He wants to hear customer feedback directly. “I want to know the good and the bad,” says Jones. He can be contacted by email at email@example.com or John.Jones@Sodexo.com with comments and suggestions.
In his spare time, Jones feeds the hungry in the Chicagoland area. He regularly provides his culinary expertise at Thanksgiving, Christmas and throughout the year creating flavorful meals for Chicago South Side families in need. He can be found driving the trucks of food he prepares to the Reverend Paul Hall’s South Side church.
