2015 Margaret Butler Celebration call for posters
The Margaret Butler Celebration of Women in Computational Science and Nuclear Engineering will be held at Argonne Thursday, June 11, 2015, at the Building 240 TCS Conference Center.
Margaret Butler was a pioneering scientist who spent her career at the forefront of the development of computer science and nuclear energy. She was the first female fellow at the American Nuclear Society and director of the National Energy Software Center at Argonne from 1972-91.
The Margaret Butler Celebration will include an afternoon seminar by Dona Crawford, Associate Director for Computation, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory followed by a Poster Session.
In the spirit of Margaret’s contributions, we invite all employees including those from the postdoctoral and Argonne Scholar community with research in computational science and nuclear engineering to be a part of the poster session.
The session will provide a professional development opportunity for scientists and engineers to present their research in an informal and collaborative setting. To present a poster, please submit an abstract of 250 words or less that describes your research topic. Poster submissions that have been presented at previous conferences are invited to participate.
Posters will be selected on the basis of technical content and relevance to the areas of computational science and nuclear engineering.
Abstracts should be submitted by May 15, 2015.
All applicants will be notified of their selection status by Wednesday, May 20, 2015.
