Jumpstart: ‘Mentoring Basics’
Postdoctoral Program Coordinator Tina Henne (CEPA) presents a seminar on mentoring Thursday, June 18, 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., Bistro 213, Dining Room A/B.
What do Werner Heisenberg and Harry Potter have in common? Mentors! (Gottfried von Leibnitz and Albus Dumbledore, respectively). All employees are welcome to learn more about becoming a mentor or a mentee at the next JumpStart meeting Thursday, June 18.
Mentoring is a professional relationship that promotes talent development by bringing employees together with more experienced staff to achieve their full potential. Speaker Tina Henne is a member of the Argonne Leadership Institute and the laboratory’s Postdoctoral Program Lead. Her presentation will cover the basics of mentoring, how it benefits both mentee and mentor, as well as the organization. This presentation is relevant to any employee, regardless of career level, who is interested in getting the most out of a mentoring relationship.
The meeting will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Building 213 Cafeteria Private Dining Room. All are welcome to attend and bring their lunches. There is no cost or registration required.
The JumpStart series is a friendly, informal forum for employees to develop new tools and knowledge that will enable individual and collective success. We hope to inform R&D employees about the mission support services available to help them do their jobs more efficiently and effectively. When available, presentation materials will be made available on the Jumpstart website on Inside Argonne (Login required).
