Active Shooter Response Training
Facilities Management and Services (FMS) – Safeguards and Security presents “SEC 161: Active Shooter Response Training” Thursday, August 27, 2015, 10:30 a.m., Building 402 Aud. All employees are encouraged to attend.
This presentation includes information and training related to a potential active shooter event, as it reinforces Homeland Security’s “Run, Hide, Fight” approach to active shooter events through fundamental defense strategies. This session highlights the seriousness of an active shooter event and will include depictions of active shooter scenarios, including loud noises, simulated gunfire and several actors. Employee participation and attendance are completely optional, but highly encouraged.
As a laboratory community we must remember that workplace violence remains a leading cause of employee injuries throughout the United States. It is imperative all employees recognize high-risk behaviors and situations, and respond in ways that could help prevent a potential tragedy.
