WE Design Think workshop: Prototyping Tools for Inquiry and Research
An interactive, hands-on workshop in design thinking, prototyping, problem-solving and collaborating with teams will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the Chicago Innovation Exchange’s Fab Lab, 1463 E. 53rd St., 2nd Floor, Chicago, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The workshop will focus on problem solving using simple prototyping methods and demonstrate how digital fabrication can help remove roadblocks on the path from having an idea to creating a physical object. Scientists and software capable CAD designers/engineers will be paired in the workshop.
Karen Gordon and Harrison Shih will lead the free workshop. Gordon is the CEO and chief design facilitator of WE Design Think. She has been working with innovators for more than 25 years. In addition to her experience with Fortune 100s, four startups and not-for-profits, Gordon has been a mentor and instructor at Chicago’s 1871 and instructs and mentors at the University of Chicago’s Booth school. Shih is a design facilitator at WE Design Think. He is a trained psychologist, artist and designer who is interested in understanding individuals’ behaviors and their unmet needs.
