Safety share: Radon, the silent killer
Radon is an odorless, colorless radioactive gas that can seep into homes from the surrounding soil. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer deaths in the United States.

Kicking off meetings with a safety share is a great way to break the ice, begin teambuilding from the onset of meetings and keep safety at the forefront of our minds each and every day. The Safety Share Library, binned by topic area, provides a variety of resources for your convenience.
All employees, groups and divisions are encouraged to submit safety shares for inclusion in the library. Submission details are available on Inside Argonne.
Each month a safety share submitted by an individual will be selected by Environment, Safety and Quality Assurance to receive a Spot Award for demonstrated safety leadership. The Spot Award program offers three award levels: gold ($100), silver ($50) and bronze ($25).
