Fresh produce will be offered for sale at a farmer’s market Thursday, July 21, 2016, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Bldg. 213 Cafeteria front entrance.
Hosted by Chicago produce company T. Castro, the farmer’s market will also offer locally and sustainably grown produce from Urban Autism Solutions’ Growing Solutions Farm, including cherry tomatoes, canary peppers, bullnose peppers, beets, sweet basil, garlic chives, Swiss chard and squash.
The market will also feature other produce items and spices that are locally grown and specialty items that aren’t normally available in this area. Examples include turmeric, lima dulce, organic bananas and organic strawberries.
Urban Autism Solutions assists young adults with autism through an integrated community life that advances social and vocational opportunities. Some of the young adults who work with Growing Solutions and Urban Autism Solutions will be present at the farmer’s market.
