WIST First Friday Forum: Chain Reaction Innovations information session
The Women in Science and Technology (WIST) Program will host a First Friday Forum Friday, July 15, 2016, at noon in the Bldg. 213 Cafeteria Private Dining Room. Andreas Roelofs (ACC) and Tona Kunz (CEP) will present on how the new Chain Reaction Innovations (CRI) program provides growth opportunities for scientists at Argonne.
Argonne’s principal investigators (PIs) have a new way to get funds to grow their research through the first incubator launched at Argonne this summer. CRI is the Midwest’s first energy and science technology incubator that embeds entrepreneurs from industry and academia into a national laboratory. Argonne staff that work with the CRI participants can leverage the program to gain funding for equipment add-ons, to pay for a postdoc, to access government grants that require industry partners and to grow their research program. CRI also gives PIs the opportunity to develop joint intellectual property and collect royalties, as well as expand their impact into new industries and sectors.
