Automatic Increase Program assists with retirement savings
The Argonne Automatic Increase Program (AIP) is a great opportunity to help you reach your financial retirement goal. AIP works by directing a portion (or all) of your salary increase to the retirement account. For example: if you’re estimating your salary increase to be 2.5 percent, you can set an AIP to have 1 percent added to your supplemental 403(b) retirement plan contribution amount and 1.5 percent will be the increase to your take home pay; after taxes of course.
To start participation in the AIP or change the effective date or the amount for your AIP, follow these steps:
- Log into your Fidelity retirement account by using your Fidelity username and password at: http://www.netbenefits.com/anl
- On the main page, click on the “Quick Link” drop down menu under 403(b) plan and select the “Contribution Amount”. When you are taken to the contribution page, details for the AIP will be displayed.
Total retirement plan supplemental contributions cannot exceed the annual maximum allowed by IRS code: $18,000, plus $6,000 if you’re over age 50.
