Fulbright scholar to discuss sustainable architecture
The Argonne Women in Science and Technology program (WIST) will host a lecture on “Research and Building Innovations for Sustainable Energy and Environment,” by Fulbright scholar Sopa Visitsak from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, May 15, 2017, in the Bldg. 203 Auditorium.
Energy and environmental awareness is a key driver key behind “Sustainable Architecture.” However, solutions can’t be as simple as switching to alternative forms of energy. “Green Innovation” also is important. Visitsak will share her research experience related to sustainable building innovations using appropriate technology and climate responsive design. Examples of green products which won several awards in national and international competitions will be presented.
Visitsak is currently a Fulbright Visiting Scholar in the College of Architecture at Texas A&M University and is the Deputy Head of Building Innovation Department, Faculty of Architecture, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand.
