13th Young Artists Expo
The Argonne Child Development Center (ACDC) will host its 13th Young Artists Expo Friday, March 9, 2018, from 4-6 p.m. in the Building 240 TCS Conference Center.
Children attending ACDC have created artwork based on different artists and types of art as part of the center’s Art Smart curriculum.
Artwork will be available for auction, and proceeds will be donated to Bright Horizons Foundation for Children in support of the Bright Spaces program. This program creates play spaces for children in homeless and domestic abuse shelters in local communities.
Families are invited to visit the expo with their children. No badges will be required for family members but we do need to submit a list of foreign nationals so please RSVP to ACDC with home birth country and citizenship country.
ACDC now open to grandchildren of employees
ACDC is now open to both children and grandchildren of Argonne, U.S. Department of Energy and University of Chicago employees and laboratory contractors. ACDC also runs a summer camp program for children 6 to 12 years old and Discovery Days, a single-day program for children when schools are closed. Managed by Bright Horizons Family Solutions, the NAEYC-accredited center offers programs for infants (six weeks), toddlers, preschoolers and pre-kindergarteners. Parents and grandparents may use ACDC as a backup when their regular childcare provider is not available. The center closes for just six days a year.
