2018 APS/CNM Users Meeting
Registration is now open for the 2018 APS/CNM Users Meeting which will be held Monday, May 7, through Thursday, May 10, 2018, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Building 402. The meeting includes a lineup of workshops and symposia that highlights the ongoing momentum of research being conducted at the APS and CNM.
The APS/CNM Users Meeting gathers scientists and engineers from diverse fields of research from around the globe to discuss cutting-edge, mission-driven research. The event features plenary sessions, workshops, poster session, a meeting banquet, exhibitor companies and a CNM short course.
This year’s meeting banquet is being held in Naperville at Elements at Water Street, which offers beautiful views of the Riverwalk. The buffet dinner theme is “farm to table,” featuring rustic, urban cuisine using locally sourced foods. The evening will start with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, following by great dining with live piano music to complete a perfect, relaxing evening after a day of great science.
Students can apply for travel support and for a chance at being selected for the student invited talks at the facility plenary sessions. Postdocs and early career scientists can submit their work for a spot in the Speed Science Slam, which will take place during the combined plenary session on Monday morning. Visit the event website for details.
The meeting will also highlight a large number of exhibiting companies of interest to the research community. The annual poster session will be held Tuesday, May 8, and is sure to offer great science and conversation with the scientists and staff that make up the user communities of the APS and CNM.
A CNM short course “Using the Hard X-ray Nanoprobe” is being offered on Thursday, May 10. Visit the event website for details.
