Long-term care insurance educational sessions
Long-term care is the type of care you need when you are no longer able to do the things you take for granted every day. It is needed when simple things, such as getting out of bed, eating, or even taking a shower, become too difficult to do on your own for extended periods of time.
Preparing for the cost of long-term care is an important part of your financial planning. For this reason Argonne’s Human Resource Services (HRS) Division is hosting educational seminars on long-term care insurance (LTCi) in which you and your spouse* can participate. Attending the seminars will enable you to learn more about LTCi from industry experts. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.
These sessions will be conducted by Legacy Services. Legacy is an independent broker that specializes in LTCi and represents multiple brand name carriers of individual LTCi policies. This year they are offering introductory and advanced sessions. Please plan to attend one or both.
Introductory session topics include: the cost of long-term care, the role of Medicare and Medicaid, determine if LTCi is right for you, why people buy in their 40s and 50s, key coverage decisions and more.
Advanced session topics include: keys to picking a carrier, mutual companies vs. stock companies, how different inflation options work, combination life/LTCi products, how to be a smart policyholder and more.
Below is the presentation schedule. To register to attend an educational session, email Legacy or call (800) 230-3398, ext. 101.
|Wednesday, March 7||10:30–11:15 a.m.||Introductory Concepts||Building 203 Auditorium|
|Wednesday, March 7||noon–12:45 p.m.||Advanced Concepts||Building 203 Auditorium|
Note: HRS offers these educational seminars solely as a way for you to learn about LTCi, in case you are interested. Argonne is not endorsing or promoting the purchase of LTCi, or any insurance company, broker or agent. Argonne has not reviewed or approved any insurance policies or carriers that Legacy Services may recommend to you. Argonne will not be involved in or have responsibility for any insurance coverage you purchase through Legacy Services. Payroll deduction is not a payment option for policies purchased through Legacy Services. Consult your financial adviser before making any decisions.
No obligation phone consultations are available by appointment. Calls are held weekdays, weeknights and Saturday mornings. You do not need to attend a seminar to receive a consultation. Topics covered include: determine if LTCi is right for you, review carrier differences, and obtain pricing on various levels of coverage.
We encourage you to become informed about the issues of long-term care and hope the education provided will be beneficial to you and your family.
*If your spouse would like to attend and educational session, you will need to arrange in advance for a Gate Pass for your spouse.
