Past performers have included an archaeologist, dietician, robotics engineer, cartographer and pilot. Science Riot focuses on how to make their expertise relatable and interesting — and funny! Come show your support for local experts performing standup for their first time ever. Learn more.
“Personalized Medicine,” Monday, March 19
How can knowing your genetic code help you? Genetic conditions, ones you are born with or are predisposed to, affect people of all ages, race and gender. Research shows that patient-specific treatment can produce a better response and reduce the risk of side effects. Learn more.

When did our ancestors look the way we expect the earliest members of our genus to have looked? The search for what defines the genus Homo has spanned decades and is still debated among scientists today. In this talk, paleoanthropologist Bernard Wood will survey the history of attempts to find the earliest members of the genus Homo, including very recent and controversial additions. Learn More.
