20-minute class: ‘Steady as a Rock — Staying Balanced’
Learn how to improve your fitness without risking injury at the “Steady as a Rock — Staying Balanced” class Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at 12:15 p.m. in the Building 402 Lower Level Gallery.
Led by Physical Therapist Amy Flaherty (HEW), participants will learn strengthening and balance exercises to improve core stability, improve balance, decrease fall risk and prevent injury.
Four key points will include:
- What systems in our body play a role in maintaining balance
- What factors can affect balance and increase fall risk
- How to strengthen the body to improve balance
- Specific balance exercises to improve balance
All are welcome to attend and bring their lunches. There is no cost or registration required.
Participants will earn 1,000 Virgin Pulse points for attending this course. Virgin Pulse points count towards Argonne’s Incentivized Wellness Program.
