Strategic D&I plan available online
Argonne’s Annual Department of Energy (DOE) Laboratory Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Plan: Fiscal Year 2018 has been posted on the Leadership Institute’s website. The plan establishes a framework for development of an inclusive workplace that values and respects the contributions of all employees by establishing a D&I mission, vision and guiding principles, outlining strategic goals, and addressing challenges and opportunities identified in the 2017 employee climate survey.
Please note this version of the Diversity and Inclusion Plan does not include employee demographic information. Demographic information for our employee population is posted on Argonne’s public website.
The document was prepared based on contributions from many at the laboratory — a diverse group of coauthors — making it clear D&I is a labwide initiative, and that all employees are responsible for achieving the following D&I goals:
- Establish and support D&I as a core value
- Build an inclusive, collaborative and transparent work environment
- Develop a sustainable training program that provides all employees with the skills needed to successfully model behaviors that exemplify an inclusive environment
- Establish shared accountability and responsibility among all employees for promoting diversity and fostering inclusion
