Argonne Toastmasters to host speechcraft workshop
Argonne Toastmasters Club invites Argonne employees and local residents to enroll in its upcoming AT-Speechcraft workshop this fall. The five-week workshop will begin Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, and recur every Friday from noon to 1 p.m. (except Nov. 23) in Building 201, Room 190. The final session will be December 7, 2018.
Space is limited to five participants. The cost is $5 for active Toastmasters members and $25 for nonmembers.
“Argonne Toastmasters provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to develop their communication and leadership skills,” said Kalyan Mutyala, Argonne Toastmasters Club President. “AT-Speechcraft will provide an introduction into successful speaking skills that will assist you in building and maintaining career success. You will be introduced to the new Toastmasters Pathways program and complete the first level in a path.”
Participants will learn public speaking and evaluation skills in a safe, supportive environment and derive many of the benefits of Toastmasters, including:
- Confidence in public speaking
- Communication and language skills
- Learning to think quickly and clearly
- Effective listening and evaluating
- Using body language and visual aids
- Advancing social skills
- Improved job or promotion prospects
- Experiencing the benefits of membership to a Toastmasters club
