‘Artificial Intelligence: Materials Design and Manufacturing’ workshop
Argonne will hold an internal, cross-directorate workshop to brainstorm project ideas and form research teams in support of the lab’s strategic initiatives and in preparation for upcoming U.S. Department of Energy artificial intelligence, materials and manufacturing calls. The workshop on “Artificial Intelligence: Materials Design and Manufacturing” will be held on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Building 401 Auditorium. On Tuesday, Oct. 16, attendees will tour research areas and see hands-on demonstrations. Discussion topics include materials design, robotics, visualization and machine learning for manufacturing and materials selection. Registrants will be emailed the full agenda and tour schedule once it is completed.
This is the second artificial intelligence (AI) workshop at the lab. The first edition, titled “Artificial Intelligence: The Human-Machine Partnership,” Nov. 27, 2017, was an exploratory meeting that identified AI areas of interest and excellence at Argonne.
Although intended as an internal meeting, we encourage participation from academic and technology research centers who expressed interest in collaborating with Argonne in the AI space. Please feel free to share the registration information with your colleagues in these areas.
