University of Chicago extends cancellation through noon Jan. 31
Update: The University of Chicago has extended the cancellation of all classes and non-essential activities through noon Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019. University classes will resume and offices will be open as of noon Thursday. As previously announced, the extended cancellation includes classes and activities in Hyde Park as well as those at the Gleacher Center and NBC Tower downtown.
Any students, faculty and staff who may still have difficulties traveling on Thursday should contact their supervisor, instructor or others as appropriate if they expect to miss work or classes after noon. If you are unsure whether a specific activity will proceed as planned, please check with the organizers or office leaders. The University of Chicago has canceled all classes and nonessential activities at Chicago locations for Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, due to extreme weather. The cancellation covers classes in Hyde Park as well as those at the Gleacher Center and NBC Tower downtown. University employees who perform non-critical functions are not expected to come to campus; employees who can perform their jobs remotely should do so. Employees should consult with their supervisors about questions specific to their roles and assignments.
