Building 240 closed June 1

May 28, 2015 | Posted by Argonne Today | Safety |

Building 240, Theory and Computing Sciences, will be shut down on Monday, June 1, 2015, to allow for repairs to a power line supplying the facility. The Argonne Library will be closed, as will the “Concrete Café” coffee shop and all meeting spaces.

For safety considerations, employees will not be permitted inside Building 240 on June 1.

Those who normally work in that facility should telecommute or find alternate work spaces around the site, such as the Bistro 213 Cafeteria. Nearly all Argonne business systems and computing services provided by CIS will remain operational.

The following CIS services will be impacted:

  • The Argonne Service Desk and Desktop Support Service will be available with limited support.
  • The Argonne Service Desk and Telecommunication Services will not be accepting “walk-ins.”  Employees can contact the Argonne Service Desk at ext. 2-9999, option 2, and Telecommunication Services at ext. 2-9999, option 3.
  • Some TMS Training videos may be unavailable throughout the day.
  • Mirror.anl.gov will be unavailable in the evening on Sunday, May 31, through the morning of Tuesday, June 2.
