Adobe Connect discontinued
As of Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, Argonne’s Adobe Connect web conferencing service will be discontinued for general lab usage.
We are notifying individual users that have used Adobe Connect since Jan. 1, 2015, that they must convert to Blue Jeans.
Argonne purchased Blue Jeans for video, web and audio conferencing in October 2014. We retained an Adobe Connect contract for one year to allow users time to make the transition to Blue Jeans.
Over the past year, we have seen a huge increase in Blue Jeans usage and a drop in Adobe Connect usage. As of the end of August, Adobe Connect accounts for about one percent of our total online meeting minutes from Blue Jeans and Adobe Connect combined. Since January 2015, we have been averaging about 200 meetings/week on Blue Jeans. In comparison, Adobe Connect has only hosted 275 meetings total in that same time period.
Inside Argonne has information on using Blue Jeans. Blue Jeans also offers free 30-minute training classes on getting started.
If you have recordings, you need to download them prior to Sept. 16, 2015. Instructions on downloading your recordings as MP4 files are available from Adobe.
