Twitter-Friendly Scientists Wanted
How can you impact the next generation of STEM professionals?
O’Neill Middle School in Downers Grove, Illinois is looking for your inspiration via Twitter.
In partnership with Argonne’s Communications, Education and Public Affairs (CEPA) division, this pilot program engages with one school this year, with hopes of expanding the program next year.
We are looking for a handful of dedicated researchers to participate in weekly “Tweet-ups.” For an hour, once a week, students can ask questions using a special hashtag, a type of label used on social media, and you have the opportunity to answer their questions in real time.
The questions students ask will be limited to the types of volunteers we receive, so let’s make sure we give them a broad range of what we have to offer.
Don’t use Twitter?
This is a perfect time to start! It is an excellent way to stay in touch with news happening in your back yard or the other side of the world.
Don’t know how answer in 140 characters or less?
Don’t worry, we’ll have help standing by.
Please let us know of your desire to participate by Friday, October 9.
