Help DIS, SSS, and ASCA increase impact of Argonne supply chain efforts
In support of Argonne’s cutting-edge leadership in science and technology, the Decision and Infrastructure Sciences (DIS) and Strategic Security Sciences (SSS) divisions and the Advanced Supply Chain Analytics (ASCA) initiative are teaming up for TechX Winter 2019 on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019, to facilitate collaboration across the laboratory’s supply chain research topics and projects. Staff with projects, tools, or capabilities related to any single supply chain node, subject, process, as well as anyone addressing a supply chain-related challenge, are encouraged to participate in a survey.
Participation in the 10-minute survey will be key in building a supply chain research community at Argonne, understanding the breadth and depth of supply chain capabilities and build an effective TechX event.
Supply chain definition
A supply chain is a system of stakeholders, technologies, activities, information, and resources involved in moving materials, goods, and services throughout the production process, from the raw materials to the end customer or final disposition. An end-to-end view of a supply chain begins with product design, considering every aspect from raw materials, supplier selection and management, production, distribution, and recycling. An effective supply chain enables visibility, authenticity, innovation, security, timeliness, and resiliency, synchronizing supply with demand, while reducing disruption, waste, uncertainty, and costs.
